As I have been dealing with extreme exhaustion and early signs of BURN OUT, the last week and a half has been a roller coaster of a plethora of extremely interesting emotions.

With a pending deadline for the draft chapter of my doctoral theoretical framework, plus a full time job, plus this blog brand, plus my personal services consultancy company, GLIMPSES (more information coming soon), plus a baby shower for my godbaby, plus a Soup Kitchen church project I was in charge of, there was not much time to think about how full my hands were. Though extremely reflective about how I was spending my time, and about what each of these projects mean to me, I was needless to say on full operation mode, until my body said STOP!

By Thursday of last week, just a couple of days after my PhD deadline, my body just slowly started to act funny! I was struggling getting up in the morning, was having all kinds of extreme emotions, couldn’t fully concentrate on many of the things I was doing. By Friday, I knew something had to give! There no way I could continue operating the way that I was, and I just knew my body was telling me to slow down and take care of my temple:)

In this video, I share some of the tactics I have been learning and utilizing, in as far as the recovery process from extreme exhaustion or burn out! I’m not quite operating at 150% yet, but with these little tricks, I am ALMOST back to my fully functioning self:) To deal with this issue, which most of us confront, here are some of the things you need to think about:

  1. Recognize that you are extremely exhausted or burned out.
  2. Tune out of everything that distracts your mind.
  3. Tune into yourself, into your spirit, and let God guide you back to your center.
  4. Rest and relax. Get off that phone and get your mind right.
