TYPE II ロングトラッカージャケット

このデニムジャケットの元になったのは1953年にごく少量のみ生産されたモデルだ。同年から発売されたデニムジャケット、Levi’s 507XX（通称・2nd）のディテールを踏襲し、着丈を長くしたバージョンである。当時、なぜこのモデルが作られたかはさだかではなく、一部のマニアの間でのみ知られていた珍品だ。 復刻にあたり、コーンミルズ ホワイト オーク デニムを用いたという。この生地はアメリカ・ノースカロライナ州のグリーンズボロにあった紡績工場がつくったもので、その品質の高さには定評があったという。しかし、この工場は2017年に操業を終了しており、リーバイ・ストラウス社は、この復刻モデルの実現のために、所有する貴重なストックを使用したとのことだ。 2ndらしいボックスシルエットは、今の着こなしにぴったり。
